Blog Pedagogy - Blogs and Education

The first blog I came across was http://www.freetech4teachers.com/. This blog offers a variety of free resources for teachers to use in their instruction. For example, the most recent post on the blog (at the time of this posting) was a free short video from the BBC which visually explains DNA and the role it plays in the larger world. The blog offers countless other free tools for lessons and engaging instruction. This type of blog provides quick access to very valuable resources for teachers. Below is a screenshot of the blog:

The second blog I discovered was http://nerdybookclub.wordpress.com/. This blog provides suggestions on books to read as well as insight as to how the books can be beneficial to the learner. The first post discusses the resiliency of characters in books and how that can transfer to personal perseverance. This blog gives instructors a great place to find good books as well as insight into the value of the books that might not otherwise be obvious. Below is a screenshot of the blog:

The third blog I explored was http://www.ctrlaltteach.com/. This blog offers insight and advice into adding technology to the classroom. The first post offers ways to use the game "Second Life" in a classroom setting. For teachers who are looking for ways to incorporate technology into their classroom this blog is an excellent resource. Below is a screenshot of the blog:
